Prisoner |
Difficulty: Easy Requirements: 6 hours in Security Access: None Extended Access: None Supervisors: Warden, Prison Guard Subordinates: None Duties: Do whatever you can in permabrig. Guides: Hydroponics, Cooking, This article |
Just because you are in perma DOES NOT mean you are an antagonist. You are bound by rule B4 and C2. Prisoners are not eligible to roll antagonist.
For some god forsaken reason, in a Space Station literally filled to the brim with opportunities, you've chosen to be the single job which has a severely constrained pool of options. Well, good for you! In fact, the Prisoner is one of the few roles which can actually work as intended for both new players and veterans, whilst still providing options for conflict.
A few important things to be aware of:
- You are not an antagonist. Remember: you did sign up for this role. If you should want to walk the halls of the station once more, you should earn your freedom, usually by working with the Warden and the Justice Department to determine terms of release. You might prove to be valuable manpower against the various threats the station professes.
- If you feel you have no choice but to escape, minimize harm while preserving your own life, and understand that you may not enjoy the consequences of your actions if you get caught once more.
- Do not escape for no reason. Walking through an open door is fine, beating an officer with a bat is not.
- Do not seek to escape without excellent reason, such as security abuse of criminal neglect. If you are unsure whether your reason is sufficient, feel free to contact the administrators.
- You have been outfitted with a subdermal tracking implant that broadcasts your location.
- As a permanent Prisoner, you have additional rights and expectations placed upon you. You can read more about them here
Bandito
A fellow hardened criminal. Just a silly little guy. Usually hangs around the permabrig with you.
Welcome to the Permabrig
This will be your home for most, if not all, of the shift. Ideally, since you do not have any duties or obligations, you will be spending your time interacting with your fellow inmates, and the Officers in charge of you. The Prison can be a very relaxing place far away from the hustle and bustle of the station, where you make friends with your inmates and work the garden and the kitchen to provide all of the dietary needs of your new friends and even to those of security, or where you simply play some board games and talk with your new friends. The prison can be the place where you work together with the Guards to remodel the place The prison can also be the place where you try to make a shiv and get batoned for it.
The Permabrig contains a garden and some seeds. If you want to you can ask for more seeds from the Guards. It also contains at least a microwave, and maybe even a full blown kitchen. The Permabrig will also contain various entertainment opportunities, maybe a TV, maybe a Jukebox, maybe just some dice and maps. Some stations have asteroids near the Permabrig that you may mine for resources, under supervision of course. Your headset gives you access to the prison comms channel. This channel is accessible to prisoners, and members of the Justice- and Security- Departments. You may always ask Security for anything your mind desires, but keep in mind any and all toys, tools and trinkets are yours only as long as security agrees they are. Be nice to them and they will probably be nice to you. Cause problems and you will learn that the only things they are forced to provide to you are food, water, clothes and medical care. If you are ever injured, it is the duty of the Corpsman to treat you. Still, try to avoid unnecessary injuries, even if you have access to a private, on demand, doctor. As opposed to a doctor found in medical, the Corpsman is unlikely to carry candy to give you after treatment.
The Permabrig is a great place to talk to people. It is (always, but especially as a Prisoner) recommended to have a backstory. Prisoner is a very social role, so if you have no cellmate and your Guards are also absent, you can either try to get fast tracked to parole or try to make your own fun.
